N. Gregory Mankiw is Professor of Economics at Harvard University. As a student, he studied economics at Princeton University and MIT. As a teacher, he has taught macroeconomics, microeconomics, statistics, and principles of economics. He even spent one summer long ago as a sailing instructor on Long Beach Island. Professor Mankiw is a prolific writer and a regular participant in academic and policy debates. His work has been published in scholarly journals such as the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, and Quarterly Journal of Economics, and in more popular forums such as The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Fortune. He is also author of the best-selling intermediate-level textbook Macroeconomics (Worth Publishing). In addition to his teaching, research, and writing, Professor Mankiw has been a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, an adviser to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Congressional Budget Office, and a member of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) test development committee for the advanced placement exam in economics. From 2003 to 2005, he served as Chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers.

Now you can master the principles of economics with the help of the most popular, widely-used economics textbook by students worldwide -- Mankiw's PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS, 8E. With its clear and engaging writing style, this book emphasizes only the material that will help you better understand the world in which you live, will make you a more astute participant in the economy, and will give you a better understanding of both the potential and limits of economic policy. The latest relevant economic examples bring principles to life. Acclaimed text author N. Gregory Mankiw explains, "I have tried to put myself in the position of someone seeing economics for the first time. My goal is to emphasize the material that students should and do find interesting about the study of the economy." Powerful student-focused digital resources are available in leading MindTap and Aplia digital learning and homework solutions that reinforce the principles presented in this edition.

Good book to introduce yourself to economics Let’s be real, this wasn’t a book for leisure. Although I didn’t enjoy reading it, I learned a lot about economics. It was a very comprehensive book, and it made topics not too overwhelming.Decent Book is in pretty poor condition. There’s a huge piece of black duck tape on the front. Markings to hard cover are evident. The inside pages are undamaged.Great money saver Awesome to be able to rent a book instead of buy it out right.
